Wuhu has secured a significant position in Anhui Province's 2026 project pipeline, with 58 initiatives officially included in the second batch of the provincial priority projects list. Among the 58 selected projects, 13 are designated as Class A priorities, while the remaining 45 fall under the Class B category. These initiatives span a broad spectrum of sectors, including intelligent connected vehicles, high-end equipment manufacturing, low-altitude economy, advanced materials, digital computing power, and public infrastructure, reflecting a balanced approach to regional growth.
The automotive sector is particularly well-represented, with major projects such as the Ecotec hybrid powertrain initiative in the Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Fulai automotive interior intelligent manufacturing base also located in Wuhu. These selections, covering everything from power systems to component fabrication, are set to further solidify the city's position as a powerhouse in the automotive industry chain.
The high-end equipment and low-altitude economy segments are bolstered by several pioneering ventures. Key projects include the Lide small and medium-sized drone piston engine in the Jiujiang District, a transformative robotics "future community" development and major application demonstration project, and the advanced manufacturing base and headquarters campus of Moxie in the high-tech zone. These are expected to be pivotal in scaling up Wuhu's robotics and low-altitude economic capabilities, positioning it as a leader in these emerging fields.
In the realm of digital infrastructure, the city is set to enhance its computational power capacity with the construction of major data centers. The China Unicom Yangtze River Delta (Wuhu) intelligent computing center phase two and a second data center facility from China Mobile are both slated for the Jiangbei Industrial Concentration Zone. These facilities will provide crucial computing support for the advancement of Wuhu's digital economy and artificial intelligence sectors.
Public welfare and urban development also feature prominently in the selection, with several high-quality projects approved to enhance the quality of life for residents. These include the Fenminghu high school project to boost educational infrastructure, the Wuhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone logistics and distribution center to modernize supply chain operations, and a tourism infrastructure enhancement project in the Baimao township area, aimed at fostering cultural and recreational development.
