Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (002738.SZ) has announced that its Kitumba copper project in Zambia's Central Province has completed all production preparations for both the mining and ore processing operations, with the full process line now formally linked up and commencing trial production. The current phase of the project will yield copper concentrate as its output, and the company will decide whether to sell this concentrate externally or retain it as feedstock for its smelting operations, based on prevailing copper concentrate market conditions and the construction progress of the smelter.

As of the announcement date, the smelting facility for the project remains under construction, with preparations for commissioning or trial production anticipated to be finalized by the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by the official start of commercial operations in the first quarter of 2027.
