Several major platforms have issued statements today addressing concerns that their monthly installment payment features are being phased out as a payment option. The clarification comes after discussions about the future of these services gained traction on social media, with users questioning whether these features would still be offered alongside traditional payment methods after September 30 or would instead be moved to a dedicated payment section.
Alibaba’s official customer service team confirmed that its Huabei product continues to operate normally, stating that the company will comply with all applicable national regulations. The team advised users that specific payment method displays will follow what appears on the Alibaba platform's pages, without offering further details on potential format changes.
Meituan's financial division also responded, reassuring customers that the Meituan Monthly Pay product is fully functional and safe to use. The company noted that any changes to how the product is displayed on the app will be reflected in future updates, urging users to refer to the application for the most current information.
Douyin's monthly payment customer service team indicated that no official notice has been issued regarding any modifications, emphasizing that the final display will be determined by the platform's page layout. Similarly, JD.com's Baitiao service team confirmed that the service remains operational as usual and that there are no plans to remove it from the list of available payment options.
These statements aim to address user concerns about the future availability of installment payment features across major Chinese e-commerce and financial platforms.
