In a proactive move to bolster community safety, Jiading is weaving a support network for new employment groups, focusing on nurturing good Samaritans and recognizing their deeds as a core part of service management.

Through the district's "Two New" work committee mechanism, the Red Cross has proactively partnered with courier and food delivery stations to launch a specialized first-aid training course, empowering riders to become certified "mobile medics." This initiative ensures that those with good intentions have the skills to match, turning good will into effective action.

This past weekend, a tailored Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification course was held at the Juyuan Street Community Party and Mass Service Center. The session, jointly organized by the District Committee's Social Work Department, the Red Cross, and Juyuan Street, saw 23 food delivery and courier riders participate in the life-saving training led by Red Cross emergency response instructors. This event is another practical step in implementing the "Dao Jia" service system, bringing crucial first-aid skills directly to the riders' workstations, rest stops, and delivery routes, making their journeys safer and their integration into the community more seamless.

"What's the first step when you find someone collapsed? Gently tap their shoulders and shout loudly." At the training, instructors focused on potential emergency scenarios riders might face on the job. Using professional video demonstrations and live modeling, they systematically taught and illustrated the proper techniques for CPR, AED usage, recognizing and clearing airway obstructions, and methods for controlling bleeding and applying bandages.

During the hands-on practice session, each rider took their turn, repeatedly practicing key points like compression depth, rate, and correct AED electrode pad placement on mannequins, with instructors providing one-on-one corrections. Prior to this, the riders had completed and passed an online theoretical course and assessment via the "Shou Hu Sheng Ming Jiu Zai Shen Bian" mini-program. This combination of online theory and offline practical training, with a clear progression from one to the other, helps riders transform their first-aid knowledge into tangible skills. Upon passing the assessment, the 23 riders are set to receive their electronic primary first-aid provider certificates, officially becoming "mobile medics" navigating the city's streets and alleyways.

"On my delivery routes, I always feared encountering a sudden emergency, wanting to help but not knowing where to start. After practicing several rounds on the mannequin today, I finally feel more confident, at least knowing what the first step should be," said Shi Anlin, a Meituan rider. Jin Fanjie, a Hema rider, also shared his thoughts: "I'd only ever seen this in videos before and felt it was far from my reality. Actually getting to attach the electrode pads and follow the prompts this time has made a much deeper impression. If I ever face a real situation, I'll be able to step forward and lend a hand."

Juyuan Street is continuing to enhance its service and empowerment initiatives for new employment groups. Leveraging the "Xin Feng" Rider Night School, the street uses 30-minute micro-classes to allow riders to learn flexibly between orders. This year, the night school curriculum has expanded to include 10 new courses, ranging from music to sports, offering riders convenient opportunities for personal enrichment beyond just safety and health. This initiative aims to let them feel the warmth and connection of the "Dao Jia" service as they recharge their skills close to their work.

The transformation from "city runners" to "guardians," from "delivering fast" to "responding swiftly," equips the new workforce traversing our cities to become "mobile medics" who are both capable and willing to perform first aid. This not only enhances individual resilience to risks but also helps weave a tighter, more extensive social emergency response network. Looking ahead, Juyuan Street will continue to deepen the "Ronghe Daojia" service system, guiding this new employment group to actively participate in grassroots governance and volunteer services. The goal is to shift them from being mere "city runners" to active "city governance participants," continuously injecting new momentum and vitality into community self-governance.
