China Construction Machinery Association Reports 649 Graders Sold in August, Cumulative Eight-Month Sales Up 13.5% Year-on-Year

According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association on major grader manufacturers, August 2026 saw sales of 649 graders, a 4.98% decrease year-on-year. Domestic sales reached 84 units, down 22.2%, while exports totaled 565 units, a 1.74% decline. From January to August 2026, cumulative grader sales reached 6,412 units, up 13.5% compared to the same period last year, with domestic sales of 811 units (down 20.7%) and export sales of 5,601 units (up 21.1%).

In the truck crane segment, 1,544 units were sold in August 2026, marking a 7.67% increase year-on-year. Domestic sales came in at 673 units, down 8.56%, while exports rose 24.8% to 871 units. For the first eight months of 2026, total truck crane sales reached 15,399 units, up 13.7% year-on-year, comprising 8,631 units sold domestically (up 15.2%) and 6,768 units exported (up 11.8%).

Crawler crane sales in August 2026 totaled 266 units, a 2.56% decrease year-on-year, with domestic sales of 71 units (down 19.3%) and exports of 195 units (up 5.41%). The January-to-August period saw cumulative crawler crane sales of 2,832 units, representing a substantial 36.2% increase year-on-year, split between 692 domestic units (up 7.45%) and 2,140 exported units (up 49%).

Regarding truck-mounted cranes, August 2026 sales reached 1,799 units, up 8.11% year-on-year, with domestic sales of 1,369 units (up 4.27%) and exports of 430 units (up 22.5%). For the first eight months, cumulative sales totaled 16,286 units, a 3.47% decline year-on-year, consisting of 12,511 units sold domestically (down 4.92%) and 3,775 units exported (up 1.67%).

Tower crane sales in August 2026 amounted to 360 units, down 15.1% year-on-year, including 170 domestic units (down 22.4%) and 190 exported units (down 7.32%). The eight-month cumulative figure was 3,092 units, a 14.2% decrease year-on-year, with domestic sales of 1,549 units (down 20%) and exports of 1,543 units (down 7.55%).

In the industrial vehicle category, August 2026 sales of forklifts excluding electric pedestrian warehouse trucks totaled 47,338 units, down 0.82% year-on-year. Domestic sales reached 28,366 units, a 2.87% decline, while exports grew 2.41% to 18,972 units. Cumulative sales from January through August reached 433,320 units of this forklift category, up 8.36% year-on-year, comprising 273,196 domestic units (up 2.61%) and 160,124 exported units (up 19.8%).

Total forklift sales across all categories in August 2026 reached 135,943 units, a 15.1% increase year-on-year. Domestic sales hit 80,231 units (including 847 AGVs), up 14.3%, while exports reached 55,712 units (including 46 AGVs), up 16.3%. For the first eight months of 2026, total forklift sales reached 1,145,716 units, up 17.4% year-on-year, with domestic sales of 709,688 units (including 7,402 AGVs, up 15.2%) and exports of 436,028 units (including 639 AGVs, up 21.2%).

Road roller sales in August 2026 totaled 1,614 units, a 23% increase year-on-year, with domestic sales of 427 units (down 10.3%) and exports of 1,187 units (up 42%). Cumulative sales for the first eight months reached 15,067 units, up 24.1% year-on-year, comprising 4,131 domestic units (down 11.1%) and 10,936 exported units (up 45.8%).

Paver sales in August 2026 stood at 174 units, a notable 47.5% increase year-on-year, with domestic sales of 74 units (down 7.5%) and exports of 100 units (up 163%). From January to August, cumulative paver sales reached 1,248 units, up 11.7% year-on-year, consisting of 671 domestic units (down 17.8%) and 577 exported units (up 91.7%).

In the elevating work platform segment, August 2026 sales reached 16,317 units, up 21.5% year-on-year. Domestic sales surged 71.2% to 6,915 units, while exports were nearly flat at 9,402 units (up 0.13%). Cumulative sales for the first eight months reached 150,590 units, a 26% increase year-on-year, with domestic sales of 52,737 units (up 15.1%) and exports of 97,853 units (up 32.9%).

Finally, aerial work vehicle sales in August 2026 came to 214 units, a sharp 56.3% decline year-on-year, including 201 domestic units (down 58.6%) and 13 exported units (up 160%). Cumulative sales for the January-August period reached 2,974 units, down 10.8% year-on-year, with domestic sales of 2,785 units (down 12.7%) and exports of 189 units (up 30.3%).
