Yuk Wing Group (01536) saw its shares catapult more than 80% in early trading on Thursday, before settling at a gain of 72.77% to HK$0.33 at the time of writing, with turnover reaching HK$2.09 million.
The dramatic move follows a disclosure from the company's board, received after market close on September 15, 2026, revealing that its controlling shareholder, Choi Fai Investment Limited, had disposed of a total of 176 million shares between September 8 and September 15, 2026. This tranche represents approximately 38.54% of the company's total issued share capital as of the announcement date.
Prior to the sale, Choi Fai held an interest of 188 million shares, constituting around 41.27% of the total issued share capital. Following the transaction, Choi Fai retained only 12.446 million shares, or approximately 2.73% of the company, thereby relinquishing its status as the controlling shareholder.
In a separate development, also confirmed after trading hours on September 15, 2026, the board was informed that Hellobaby International Limited had acquired 132 million shares from Choi Fai at an approximate price of HK$0.454 per share. This acquisition, representing 29.00% of the company's issued share capital, has elevated Hellobaby International to the position of a major shareholder.
