Shares of MEITU (01357) surged more than 5% in Hong Kong trading, last up 5.37% at HK$4.02 with turnover reaching HK$239 million.

On the news front, MEITU announced that the board was further informed by Mr. Wu that on September 15, 2026, he purchased 1 million shares of the company on the open market of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited at an average price of HK$3.899 per share. Following this latest acquisition, Mr. Wu's total interests in the company increased from 595 million shares to 596 million shares, with his stake in the issued share capital rising from approximately 12.97% to 12.99%.

Since May 10, 2018, Mr. Wu has cumulatively acquired 6.58 million shares.

Additionally, in response to recent rumors circulating on forums regarding share reductions, the company issued a clarification to prevent any potential public misunderstanding. The board was informed by Mr. Wu that he has never sold any shares of the company, nor does he have any plans or intentions to sell shares or reduce his holdings in any manner.

Mr. Wu further reiterated to the board his belief that the company's business fundamentals remain robust, and given the accelerating pace of product innovation and the long-term growth potential, he does not rule out further increasing his stake in the company at an appropriate time.
