Since domestic refined oil product prices were last adjusted on September 11, the geopolitical situation in the Middle East has remained complex and volatile. International crude oil prices surged after an initial spike and subsequent pullback, before climbing once again in recent days.
To cushion the domestic impact of rising international oil prices, the state has continued to apply regulatory measures on refined oil product pricing. Based on calculations from the current pricing mechanism, domestic gasoline and diesel (standard grade) prices per tonne were set to increase by 830 yuan and 800 yuan respectively, effective from 24:00 on September 24. However, after regulatory adjustments, the actual increases stand at 395 yuan per tonne for gasoline and 385 yuan per tonne for diesel.
PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, as well as other crude oil processing enterprises, have been instructed to organize the production and transportation of refined oil products to ensure stable market supply and to strictly comply with national pricing policies. Local authorities are required to intensify market supervision and inspection efforts, strictly penalizing any failure to implement state pricing rules, and to uphold normal market order. Consumers can report any pricing violations through the 12315 platform.
