Attention drivers in Quangang! Domestic refined oil prices are set for another adjustment. Following the pricing rules for refined oil products, the next price change will take effect at 24:00 on September 24. As of September 19, the fifth working day of the current pricing cycle, forecasts indicate: gasoline is projected to rise by 590 yuan per tonne, while diesel is expected to increase by 570 yuan per tonne. Converted to retail prices at the pump, this means 92-octane gasoline is estimated to go up by 0.47 yuan per liter, 95-octane gasoline by 0.50 yuan per liter, and 0-diesel by 0.49 yuan per liter.

Current national average fuel prices stand at 8.28 yuan per liter for 92-octane gasoline, 8.84 yuan per liter for 95-octane gasoline, and 7.94 yuan per liter for 0-diesel. These levels are now only about 0.6 yuan per liter away from the highest point reached this year. If this round of price hikes materializes, 95-octane gasoline across the country could fully enter the 9-yuan era, approaching the year's peak price recorded on April 8.

Reviewing adjustments made so far this year, 18 out of 25 scheduled pricing windows have already been completed, with the trend showing more increases than decreases: 12 hikes, 1 hold, and 5 cuts. Cumulatively, gasoline and diesel have risen by 1,980 yuan per tonne and 1,905 yuan per tonne respectively, translating to an increase of 1.58 to 1.69 yuan per liter. For a typical 50-liter fuel tank, filling up now costs 79 to 85 yuan more compared to the start of the year.

The final outcome of this round of price adjustments will be subject to the official announcement from the National Development and Reform Commission. Drivers are advised to keep an eye on the 2026 fuel price adjustment calendar and save the following fuel-saving tips for future reference. Please spread the word to fellow motorists and consider refueling in advance!
