Oppenheimer Raises Microsoft Price Target to $570 on Expected FY2027 Acceleration in Azure and M365 Commercial

Following a meeting with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) management, Oppenheimer has lifted its price target on the tech giant from $515 to $570, while keeping an Outperform rating on the stock.

In a client note, analyst Brian Schwartz expressed increased conviction that the company's narrative of accelerated growth paired with capital discipline remains intact. He highlighted that Microsoft's Azure and M365 Commercial segments are positioned for sustained business acceleration through fiscal 2027, driven by robust Copilot monetization, the addition of more compute capacity, and customers increasingly standardizing on Microsoft as their primary enterprise AI platform.

Schwartz also pointed to efficiency gains and capital discipline as key focus areas, noting that these efforts are already delivering more predictable capital expenditure and positive free cash flow this year. This stands in contrast to some other hyperscale cloud peers. However, he cautioned that multiple risks remain, including AI-driven disruption and potential early pull-forward of enterprise IT spending from the second half of 2026, which could slow Azure and M365 Commercial revenue growth heading into calendar year 2027, compress cloud margins, or lead to diminished capital expenditure efficiency.
