Good morning, Chongqing! Today is Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Local Highlights
Chongqing now boasts over 20,000 cross-border e-commerce businesses. On September 18, the 2026 Chongqing Cross-Border E-Commerce Trade Fair opened. To date, the city is home to more than 20,000 cross-border e-commerce entities. In 2025, the total import and export value of cross-border e-commerce in the city reached 36.803 billion yuan. This year's fair features approximately 200 local Chongqing industrial enterprises specializing in auto parts and motorcycle components, hardware tools, and general machinery, alongside nearly 100 supply chain companies from outside the city. Additionally, 25 major global and emerging cross-border e-commerce platforms and over 60 cross-border service providers covering logistics, payment, compliance, and marketing are participating, creating a comprehensive service ecosystem supporting the entire chain of enterprise expansion overseas.
A step closer to operation! Full power has been delivered along Phase 1 of the Chongqing Rail Transit Line 15. On September 18, State Grid's Chongqing North Power Supply Company successfully completed the full-line power transmission for Phase 1 of Line 15, providing reliable electrical support for the line's official launch. Phase 1 of Line 15 runs from Chongguang Interchange Station to Liangjiang Film City Station, spanning 38.73 kilometers with 14 stations. As the first urban express rail line in Chongqing's central area, it can reach a maximum operating speed of 140 kilometers per hour. This project is a key public initiative aimed at optimizing the city's transport layout and fostering regional coordinated development. Five Chongqing Industrial Parks Named in the First National-Level List
According to the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently published the first list of entities selected for the construction of high-standard digital industrial parks. A total of 91 parks nationally were included, among them five from Chongqing: Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Yongchuan High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Changshou Economic and Technological Development Zone - Natural Gas Chemical New Materials Industrial Park, Baitao Industrial Park - Chemical Industrial Park, and Jiangjin Industrial Park - Tuanjiehu Digital Park. These five parks demonstrate prominent industrial clustering effects and a solid foundation for digital infrastructure. They have accumulated extensive practical experience in digital transformation of industry chains, intelligent park management, green and low-carbon governance, and digital safety and emergency management, positioning them well for establishing high-standard digital parks.
National Developments
Clarified handling scope: The Cyberspace Administration of China strengthens management of enterprise-related infringing information. The General Office of the Central Cyberspace Administration recently issued a notice on strengthening the management of enterprise-related infringing information and continuing to optimize the business environment online. The notice clarifies the scope for handling such information, emphasizing that addressing it concerns the vital interests of businesses, entrepreneurs, and the public. Website platforms are required to proactively clean up and handle enterprise-related infringing information, including personal data leaks (e.g., entrepreneurs' ID cards, passports, household registrations, home addresses, phone numbers, and sensitive data like biometrics, medical health, financial accounts, and movement tracks), insults and defamation (e.g., abusive language toward businesses or entrepreneurs, mocking corporate logos, products, or entrepreneur portraits, or maliciously linking them to vulgar content), as well as impersonation and false or misleading content. Platforms must also actively remove information that incites rivalry or rehashes outdated negative stories about enterprises.
A new report on green supply chains for renewable resources indicates that waste home appliances and similar items have become key growth areas this year. The China National Resources Recycling Association recently released the "China Renewable Resources Green Supply Chain Development Report 2026." According to this report, driven by ongoing national circular economy policies, China's renewable resource recycling industry continues its stable growth trend. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the industry will accelerate its shift toward full life-cycle supply chain management. This year, the disposal of idle and waste materials by enterprises has been pushed further upstream and deepened across entire processes. Policies promoting trade-ins for consumer goods, equipment upgrades, and the growth of the new energy industry continue to drive demand for reverse logistics, making used power batteries, waste home appliances, and consumer electronics key growth sectors.
AI empowerment: China initiates a new paradigm of intelligent astronomical observation. The Xingyu telescope, developed by the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been selected for Stanford University's "2026 AI Index Report," serving as a representative example of AI applications in physics, astronomy, chemistry, and materials science globally. This marks international recognition of China's innovative practices in AI-driven astronomical observation. Leveraging simulation systems and standardized technical interfaces, the Xingyu telescope's AI agent can autonomously complete a full observation loop. Through specialized models, the agent can identify extremely early supernova candidates from massive survey data, addressing the question of "what to observe," and assess optimal observation timing based on real-time meteorological data like cloud cover, wind speed, and humidity, solving the challenge of "how to observe." To date, the intelligent system has successfully issued early warnings for eight extremely early supernova candidates, with follow-up tracking completed for two. Crucially, the AI agent can automatically accumulate observational experience and iteratively refine its strategies, continuously enhancing precision.
