Acme International obtains Guangdong virtual power plant operator licence through subsidiary

Acme International Holdings Limited has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Guangdong Gangneng Power Co., Ltd., has been included in the tenth batch of companies listed in the Guangdong Province Directory of Virtual Power Plant Operators as of 15 July 2026. The inclusion follows a public notice period conducted from 5 June to 4 July 2026, after which the Guangdong Power Exchange Center confirmed the registration under Notice No. Guangdong Jiaoyi (2026) No. 226.

With the registration, Guangdong Gangneng now holds an official virtual power plant operation licence, marking its transition from a traditional electricity sales entity to an integrated energy service provider. The licence authorises the aggregation of distributed new-energy generation and adjustable load resources for participation in Guangdong’s electricity trading, demand response and ancillary-services markets.

Management highlights that virtual power plant capabilities can be closely aligned with the Group’s existing electricity sales operations, AI-driven electricity trading platform and proprietary energy-storage assets. This integration is expected to enhance operational efficiency, resource utilisation and the overall competitive positioning of the Group’s energy services portfolio.
