Shares of the Southern 2x Long MSTR ETF (07799) climbed more than 8% in early trading, reaching HK$5.395 at the time of writing with a gain of 8.33% and transaction volume of HK$1.5824 million.

According to an 8-K filing submitted by Michael Saylor's bitcoin treasury firm Strategy (MSTR.US) on Monday, the company purchased 950 bitcoins during the week ending September 20, spending $75.7 million at an average price of $79,670 per coin, including fees. This marks the company's first bitcoin acquisition in three weeks, following a period of rebuilding investor confidence through balance sheet restructuring and reserve accumulation.

Data from BitcoinTreasuries shows that Strategy held 847,363 bitcoins on June 22, representing its largest reported position to date. If the current weekly purchase pace continues for another two weeks, the company will surpass that record.

The latest purchase comes as the funding environment for Strategy's financing model has improved modestly. Bitcoin's rebound to an eight-month high of approximately $85,000 has helped lift the company's stock price and pushed its market capitalization closer to the value of its bitcoin holdings.
