CATL Shares Slide 3.8% in Morning Trade, Major Fund Managers Report Losses

Shares of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) continued their downward trend on September 16, falling 3.8% to 304.31 yuan per share by midday. The battery giant recorded a trading volume of 16.2 billion yuan with a turnover rate of 1.25%, bringing its total market capitalization to 1.4354 trillion yuan.

According to Wind data, 3,102 public fund products held a combined 320 million shares of CATL in the second quarter of 2026, resulting in a collective paper loss of 3.86 billion yuan during the morning trading session. These funds had reduced their CATL positions by a total of 79.34 million shares over the quarter.

Among the top holders, E Fund led the pack with 104 products holding 39.58 million shares, suffering a morning loss of 476 million yuan. China Asset Management followed with 21.1513 million shares, recording a loss of 250 million yuan. Several other major fund houses, including China Universal, Fullgoal, Huaan, Southern, GF, Harvest, Huatai-PineBridge, and AEGON-Industrial, each maintained positions exceeding 10 million shares.
