Thailand's average annual economic growth is expected to accelerate to 2.2% from 2026 through 2035, according to the latest Southeast Asia Outlook report published Wednesday by DBS Group, Bain & Co., and Vriens & Partners.
The projection, pinned down by an "aging population and fragmented politics," is faster than the average annual growth rate of 2% between 2016 and 2025 but slower than the 3.4% average between 2006 and 2015.
The forecast for the country is slower than the broader 4.8% growth outlook for the region's six major economies, which include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, for the 2026 to 2035 period.
