A unit of China state-owned CNOOC (SHA:600938, HKG:0883) started the construction of facilities for a major oil and gas project in Qatar at a fabrication base in Qingdao in China's Shandong Province.
CNOOC unit Offshore Oil Engineering is the general contractor of the Bul Hanine EPIC project, which has a contract value of about $4 billion, Chinese state media Xinhua News reported Tuesday.
Shares of the oil and gas producer were down 1% in recent trade in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
