Shanghai Biren Technology (HKG:6082) is eyeing $1 billion from a potential share sale, Bloomberg reported citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The fabless semiconductor design company reportedly intends to use funds raised for the AI-related activities.

The share sale may be implemented after early October, when a 90-day lockup following a $900 million sale in July ends, the people said.

The details of the offering, and whether or not it will materialize, are yet to be finalized, according to the report.

Shanghai Biren Technology did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
