A financial advisor team that oversaw $8.1 billion in client assets has left Ameriprise Financial to launch its own registered investment advisory firm.

Rise Private Wealth Management established an independent RIA in Bedford, N.H. It has seven additional office locations, according to its website. The team was ranked No. 61 on Barron's Top 250 Private Wealth Management Teams for 2026 and had team assets of $8.1 billion, including assets under advisement, according to rankings data submitted to Barron's.

The team's move was reported earlier by website AdvisorHub, which said that Dynasty Financial Partners provided the new RIA with back-office support. Dynasty Financial assists advisors working at large national brokerage firms in striking out on their own to open independent RIAs. It provides them with technology and asset-management services and aids with tasks such as changing registrations and finding office space.

A representative for Dynasty and Rise CEO Brent Kiley didn't respond to requests for comment.

Kiley and Rise co-founder Robert Bonfiglio are industry veterans with more than 25 and 35 years of experience, respectively, according to BrokerCheck, a public database maintained by industry self-regulatory organization Finra.

Rise announced its new RIA in a LinkedIn post, saying its team, offices, and mission remain unchanged. "Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Rise Private Wealth Management as we transition to an independent registered investment advisor," the post said.

Ameriprise is one of the nation's largest wealth management companies with $1.2 trillion in client assets as of June 30. It says it works with more than 10,000 advisors, including advisors who are employees of Ameriprise and independent advisors who own their own practices and operate as 1099 contractors.

A spokeswoman for Ameriprise says in a statement: "Our focus remains on helping advisors grow and succeed while delivering exceptional advice and service to clients through our combination of industry-leading technology, wealth management capabilities and comprehensive practice support. We have long maintained strong retention among highly productive advisors and continue to see a robust pipeline of high-caliber advisors joining Ameriprise."
