Westpac Banking (ASX:WBC, NZE:WBC) said it is the first New Zealand bank accredited to issue digital credentials under the government's digital identity services trust framework, according to a Thursday statement.
Once digital identification is rolled out, Westpac One Business customers will be able to show digital proof of their bank account to customers. This will eliminate the need to download a bank statement, redact information, or send documents using less secure methods such as email, the bank said.
The digital credentials will be held in the Govt.nz app wallet.
