Ingram Micro Holding (INGM) may benefit from AI, cloud, advanced technology products, new lifecycle services and wider use of its Xvantage platform, while automation and tighter cost control could support stronger margins and profit growth, RBC Capital Markets said Wednesday in a report.

Ingram Micro is moving beyond traditional IT distribution by using Xvantage to automate work, find sales opportunities earlier and direct business toward higher-margin products and services, RBC said. Its AI business may expand through partnerships with Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon.com (AMZN) and Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google, as well as services that help smaller businesses, the report said.

The lifecycle services segment may be a growth area as Ingram Micro expands IT equipment resale and disposal, repairs, reverse logistics and supply-chain services, the report said.

RBC maintained its outperform rating on Ingram Micro and its $33 price target.
