Tech Rally Pauses, But Soft Oil Lifts Wall Street Pre-Bell; Asia, Europe Up

Wall Street futures pointed modestly higher pre-bell Tuesday as the tech rally paused, but global crude prices continued to decline and boost sentiment.

In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.1%, while the Nasdaq also inclined 0.1% after notching a fresh all-time zenith on Monday. The Dow Jones was up 0.3% in pre-market action.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded down 2.8% to $89.83 a barrel in morning trades.

Saudi Arabia has restarted crude flow through its war-damaged East-West Pipeline and could resume exports from the Red Sea on Tuesday, Reuters reported.

The VanEck Semiconductor fund (SMH), after gaining 4% Monday, edged down 0.3% pre-bell.

Asian exchanges traded moderately higher overnight, with Tokyo closed on holiday.

European bourses gained ground midday on the continent, led by tech shares.

AutoZone (AZO) plans to report earnings pre-bell, among others.

On the economic calendar is the Richmond Fed Manufacturing Index at 10 am.

Federal Reserve New York President John Williams, Fed Vice Chair Philip Jefferson and Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin are slated to speak on Tuesday.

In pre-market action, Bitcoin traded at $85,767, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.93%. Spot gold commanded $4,327 an ounce.
