Industrial Shares Slip Despite Robust Manufacturing PMI

Shares in the industrial sector edged lower as inflation worries offset a surprisingly high increase in September PMI to 57, which beat a WSJ consensus forecast of 53.5.

Shares of NN rose after the precision-manufacturing company lifted its full-year guidance, citing strength in markets including artificial-intelligence data centers. The stock has nearly tripled in value this year. NN expects net sales this year of between $470 million and $490 million, up $10 million from its previous guidance. The midpoint of $480 million represents 14% year-over-year growth.

Finnish defense technology group Sensofusion plans to raise around 300 million euros ($343.5 million) in a Helsinki public listing, as it looks to seize on investor enthusiasm for drone companies.
