BHP (BHP) suspended all mining operations at its Escondida mine after an employee died in an accident while carrying out maintenance work, the mining firm said Wednesday.
The company said it immediately notified authorities and launched an investigation into the incident.
BHP is working with the relevant authorities to determine its cause, it added.
