DeepSeek plans to increase its use of Chinese-made chips for AI model training, with Huawei Technologies expected to begin supplying training chips as early as the fourth quarter, The Information reported Monday, citing two people familiar with the matter.

DeepSeek CEO Liang Wenfeng told investors that expanding the company's use of Huawei and other Chinese-made processors for model training is a key priority, according to the report.

DeepSeek is currently training a 2-trillion-parameter model, and it plans to develop a much bigger model with 8 trillion parameters, the report said.
