Blackstone's (BX) non-binding proposal to acquire IDP Education for 2.5 Australian dollar per share ($1.78) has been rejected, the ASX-listed company said Tuesday.
The indicative proposal "substantially undervalues" IDP Education and is not in its shareholders' best interests, the company said.
The company called the offer "highly opportunistic" and said that it does not factor in the business' future earnings potential.
IDP said it had previously rejected an offer from Blackstone for AU$2.3 per share.
